The Crying Of Lot 49 - Thomas Pynchon

Pynchon's book he wrote before gravitys rainbow. Only 150 pages, compared to gravity's rainbow's 900. A funny book. Very paranoid. You can see where some of the ideas in gravity's Rainbow got their start. I liked the prose. Apparently it was a vehicle for the several long soliloques that ruminate on a whole manner of things. If I could say the book reminded me of any one thing I'd say any one of those scenes in The Simpsons where Homer goes to take a "walk" and ends up driving around whilst neon lights full of jokes reflect in his windscreen.
